PRP Joint Health

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy has been studied as a treatment option for osteoarthritis. By amplifying the body’s own growth factors to trigger its natural healing process, PRP injections work to reduce pain and restore function with few to no side effects.

We start the procedure by drawing your blood and spinning it in our centrifuge to extract the PRP. Most joints will require two injections four to six weeks apart. A consultation with Dr. MacDonald is required prior to booking to determine if you are a good candidate; the cost of the consult will then be used toward your first treatment.
